The decision to begin counselling is a significant one, and to that end it is important to choose an experienced and registered practitioner who has completed a rigorous, thorough training.
I have a BPC Accredited Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from my training organisation. Previous qualifications include BACP Accredited Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, and Certificate in Counselling Skills. I have been training and working in this field since 2006, during which time I have built up substantial clinical experience, and theoretical understanding. In my commitment to continuing my professional development as a clinician I continue to attend further trainings, lectures and workshops.
I am a professional member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC). The BPC is a professional association and regulator of the psychoanalytic psychotherapy profession, publishing a Register of practitioners who are required to follow the BPC ethical code and meet the regulator’s fitness to practise standards. The BPC promotes excellence in psychoanalytic thinking and psychotherapy; safeguards the public and promotes the highest standards of training and research. I am also a member of the Foundation for Counselling and Psychotherapy (FPC) and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
In addition to my private practice I have considerable experience working as a psychotherapist in the NHS, and in Psychotherapy and Counselling Centres in Tunbridge Wells and London.
